Barracuda™ Isolated DC-DC Converter

OmniOn Power™ Barracuda™ Series DC-DC Converters are designed for applications where available system voltage is between 36V to 75V and where an isolated conversion stage to a regulated 12V output is required. The 12V output can be used to power fans, hard-drives, and downstream point-of-load converters. These bus converters are available in standards-based sixteenth-brick, eighth-brick, and quarter-brick DOSA footprints. OmniOn Power Embedded Power Barracuda™ Series incorporates digital control, synchronous rectification technology, and innovative packaging techniques to achieve efficiency reaching 96% peak at 12V_DC, eliminating the need for heat sinks in many applications.

QB Barracuda DC-DC Converters

OmniOn Power™ QB Barracuda DC-DC Converters are regulated DC-DC power modules designed to support 12V_DC intermediate bus applications. The OmniOn Power QB Barracuda DC-DC Converters operate from an input voltage range of 48V_DC to 60V_DC and provide up to 1540W output power in an industry-standard, modified DOSA digital quarter brick. These converters incorporate digital control, synchronous rectification technology, a regulated control topology, and innovative packaging techniques to achieve full load efficiency exceeding 97% at 12V_DC output. Standard features include a heat plate to attach external heat sinks or contact a cold wall. The devices also provide on/off control, output overcurrent and overvoltage protection, overtemperature protection, input undervoltage/overvoltage lockout, and a PMBus interface. The output is fully isolated from the input, allowing versatile polarity configurations and grounding connections.
